Ducted Air Conditioning
Ducted air conditioning gives you climate control for the entire home from a central unit, with discreet ceiling vents and smart zoning. The premium, seamless solution that adds value to your property.
Ducted Systems, explained.
Whole-home comfort, hidden hardware
A central indoor unit sits in the roof or under the floor, feeding insulated ducts to vents in each room. Inside the home you only see grilles and the controller. Our ducted ranges run from 5kW apartments systems to 35.1kW commercial-grade Temperzone plant.
Zoning is where ducted earns its keep
Zone control (typically 4 or 8 zones on ranges like Daikin’s) lets you condition only the rooms in use. A well-zoned system costs dramatically less to run than one big always-on zone, and modern controllers schedule it all.
What drives a ducted install
Roof-space height, duct run lengths, the number of zones, single versus three phase power and access all shape the job. Daikin’s 245mm Slimline exists precisely for tight ceiling cavities. A ducted install typically takes one to three days; new builds and renovations are the easiest time to do it.
Popular ducted sizes
Ducted System questions, answered
How long does ducted installation take?
Typically one to three days depending on home size, zones and roof access. In a renovation or new build it integrates far more easily than retrofitting later.
Do I need three phase power for ducted?
Not usually. Most residential ducted systems up to around 17kW run on single phase: Rinnai’s D Series goes to 17kW single phase, with 20 and 24kW units on three phase. Larger ActronAir and Temperzone systems are three phase. We confirm from your switchboard photo.
Can ducted work in a tight roof space?
Often, yes. Low-profile units like Daikin’s 245mm Slimline and Carrier’s 210mm QSM Slim Line are built for shallow cavities. Photos of your roof space tell us quickly.
What size ducted system does my home need?
As a guide, a typical three-bedroom single-storey home lands around 10 to 12.5kW, larger two-storey homes 14 to 20kW. Zoning changes the maths in your favour. Use the calculator or send us a floor plan for a precise number.
