2.5 kWSamsung Aero 2.5kW Split System
The 2.5kW Samsung Aero is sized for standard bedrooms and small home offices. As a guide, it cools a room of up to about 18 to 21 m². That is from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' sizing chart for an insulated room: the larger figure if it faces north, the smaller if it faces east. Western sun, poor insulation and high ceilings bring it down. Like the rest of the Aero range it pairs Samsung’s Digital Inverter Boost compressor with SmartThings app control. It is the smallest capacity in the Aero range. If the space is bigger, has high ceilings or strong afternoon sun, step up to the 3.5kW.

The Samsung Aero 2.5kW uses 171 kWh per year for cooling and 382 kWh per year for heating under the official government energy test for Sydney's climate zone. The unit carries a 4.5-star cooling efficiency rating and a 3-star heating efficiency rating under the zoned energy label for Sydney. It achieves a rated cooling efficiency of 4.35 AEER and heating efficiency of 4.29 ACOP, using R32 refrigerant.
