5 kWMitsubishi Electric MFZ-KW 5kW Floor Console
The 5.0 kW MFZ console suits open living areas of up to about 36 to 43 square metres and replaces most mid-size wall furnaces directly. That is from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' sizing chart for an insulated room: the larger figure if it faces north, the smaller if it faces east.
Part of the Mitsubishi Electric MFZ-KW Floor Console range, Mitsubishi Electric's floor console line, in 5 sizes. Running costs below use the Sydney median rate; the Eastern Suburbs and Western Sydney pages cost systems on their own network tariffs. Check the size against your rooms, compare it with other 5 kW options, or ask about supply and installation.
About $411 a year at the current Sydney median electricity rate: $160 of cooling plus $251 of heating, from the official GEMS test figures.
The Mitsubishi Electric MFZ-KW 5kW uses 483 kWh annually for cooling and 757 kWh annually for heating, based on official GEMS test data for Sydney's climate zone. Both cooling and heating carry a 2.5-star energy rating under the zoned label system. The unit has a rated efficiency of 3.77 for both cooling (AEER) and heating (ACOP), meaning it delivers 3.77 units of heating or cooling output for each unit of electrical energy consumed.
Running costs depend on your local electricity rate and how often you operate the system. The kWh figures above represent standard test values under controlled conditions and will vary with your actual usage patterns, thermostat settings and local climate conditions.
